I Will Never Experience Something Like That

Dear One,

I always thought “I will never experience something like that.”I had done so much healing work with the land around Cobb Mountain and my home. Losing my home to a wildfire would never happen to me.

It did.

When I heard the Monday morning news that parts of Napa, Sonoma and Santa Rosa were on fire and burned to the ground, I was in shock. For decades I believed a wildfire would never happen there.

It did.

After I had experienced the huge Valley Fire on September 12, 2017, driving to and through these areas – certainly in Napa – were my saving grace as I could engulf myself in beauty, green landscapes and beautiful ancient trees.

I would say to myself: I am so grateful to experience this beauty!

If you have ever heard yourself say this sentence or even contemplated it, make room inside of yourself that anything could happen anytime.

How would you prepare yourself?

My number #1 Tip for this is:

-Be always – as good and as much as you can – present to what is NOW

-Say good-bye to your home, go through each room, see and bless it, thank it and then leave, it might add 5 more minutes to your departure and it’s well worth it

-Be so grateful for all that you have now

-Say good-bye with full awareness to anybody you part from, look them in the eye, give them a hug, hold their hand – especially if you had an argument – do not leave in anger

Sending tons of love, Joya
